One thing I love is the fact that my husband is pretty amazing at coming up with some fun, new, exciting ways of cooking food with me! He supports us as a family to eat healthy, and is doing a lot of the cooking!
Yesterday, he came up with the idea of making apple walnut turkey burgers! I never in a million years would have come up with that, so I must give him credit for this recipe!
Apple Walnut Turkey Burgers
1/2 small Onion minced
3 cloves garlic minced
Pepper to taste
Salt to taste
1/4 cup BBQ sauce (I use sugar free C. Hughes)
1 tbsp evoo
1 tsp parsley
1/2 Apple finely chopped (I used red apple)
1/4 cup walnuts finely chopped
Pre-heat oven or grill to medium high heat.
Hand mix all ingredients together in medium size mixing bowl.
Make patties the size of your palm of your hand to create proper portion sizes.
Place on sprayed pan (with EVOO or pam) or directly on grill and cook for 8 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked.
Let cool before eating!
Serve with your favorite side salad!

Combine all the ingredients except for the oils in a medium sized bowl, mixing completely.
Divide the turkey mixture into 5 round patties.
Refrigerate for at least one hour.
Heat the oils in a large skillet. Add the patties and cook for 10 minutes, turning every so often to achieve a golden color.
Serve with a sprinkling of extra soy sauce on the top or with Thai sweet chili sauce
Thai Sweet Chili Sauce
1/4 cup pure maple syrup
2 tbsp sweet chili garlic sauce
1 tbsp white wine vinegar
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 tbsp Bragg Liquid Amino
1/4 tsp sea salt
In a small sauce pan, whisk ingredients together and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer until thickened (about 5 min).
Let cool and use to dip with Thai Patties.

So which of you reading this is totally guilty of waiting until the New Year to start back up with your fitness journey? Who is guilty of letting go of their nutrition because the holiday food tastes good, letting go of the gym because it’s well…. too cold, and not really caring about what they look like because your not in a bathing suite or shorts/tank top in the winter anyways?
If this is you and your feeling the slightest bit of guilt, maybe its time to rethink your winter and holiday habits! I am not asking you to completely give up holiday food and treats… I know I am not, but what I am doing is finding healthier alternatives so I can still enjoy, but stay healthy and feel good about myself inside and out without feeling self conscious of how I look in my clothes!
There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with letting go of the normal “New Year’s Resolution” that everyone does and start now! You don’t have to set yourself back by letting go of yourself when you can be that one that is moving forward and then when the New Years comes, your ahead of the game and your making it easier on yourself and your body to be healthy, happy, and confident in the skin your in!
As an online fitness coach, I love to reassure people that may be following me and my journey that my goal is not to set unrealistic goals on you, help you be “skinny” or starve yourself! My goal is simply to help YOU fulfill YOUR health and fitness goals, whether its to lose 5 pounds, 25 pounds, or 100 pounds (depending on how much you need to lose to be a healthy weight), or just tone and gain better eating habits and/or exercise habits! My goal is also to motivate your and help you become a positive role model for those watching you and also to help you have a healthier lifestyle so you can share this with your household and children if you have them! As a mother, this healthy lifestyle has impacted me the most!! I do not talk about how “fat” I am or how I need to lose weight… especially in front of my kids.. But what I do love to talk about is how mommy loves to be healthy because our body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, which is given to you from God and our job is to honor God with our bodies (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 NIV). So its time to practice what I preach and show them mommy is leading by example so they can do the same and grow big, strong, and healthy!
So for this week, I have prepped my meals to help me stay accountable with my nutrition. I am prepped so I do not have to spend time during the week cooking, and I can no longer make excuses for not having “time” to cook or anything prepared if I’m on the run! I take less than 3 hours total to prep and I’m ready to roll! Here are some of the meals I’m eating with some new recipes for you that hopefully you can use for your family!

As a former ER nurse and mom of 2 boys, I have a true passion for helping people and changing lives, but also know what its like to be crazy busy!! My career changed almost 4 years ago when I decided to start my fitness journey with Beachbody and complete my first home fitness program Insanity, along with incorporating Shakeology into my regimen to help me with my nutrition. It changed my life!! It changed my life so much I wanted to make fitness and Beachbody my career! I knew I could share my story and help others with similar goals and life situations and busy moms and nurses and make a difference AND be able to be successful as I work from home and be with my boys!
As an 3 X Elite Coach (top 0.05 % of the entire organization), I was able to earn income to replace my nursing salary while working around 7-10 hours a week within my first 1.5 years of coaching. Within 3 years, I completely retired from my ER nursing career and made Beachbody my full time career as was able to build a 6 figure income, tripling my full time nursing salary. This is not meant to boast, but I want to show you how I have been able to gain freedom of time for my family, while financially being able to provide for them as well!
Not only have I gained freedom with Beachbody coaching as my career (starting working less than part time hours), I have also had a great transformation, being able to compete as a Figure Competitor, I also have been able to travel around the US, and gain the BEST friendships ever!! Not kidding you, this is more than a team.. this is my 2nd family!!!
It has been so rewarding to now be able to really wake up every day excited to get to work, excited to help motivate others and help people around the US and Canada with their health and fitness journey (onlineusing social media). Whats great about what I do is I didn’t have ANY experience with social media when I first started! I had a Facebook account and thats it!
Another rewarding part of my career is the ability to be home with my boys Chase (5) and Weston (4) and watch them grow! As a nurse, I was missing so much with them.. Now, I watch my oldest get on and off the bus every day, I take Weston to pre-school 3 hours, 3 days a week so he can interact with others and swim, and Im able to watch event and sports that they have, along with attending school events! The cool part is, I don’t have to request or take off work!! I make my own business hours at home and arrange it around my family!
I am hosting a 3 day Sneak Peek into Beachbody Coaching and would LOVE to show you exactly what I do and what our team is about!
I am looking for more passionate moms, who want the ability to work from home and make an extra income to provide more freedom for their family, but also has a passion for fitness!! You do NOT have to be at your goal weight!! I started just at the beginning of my fitness journey, but the great thing is, this fitness business will help so much with your accountability and as we share our stories, it will only inspire more people who want to change their life as well!!
My next New Coach Training will start Nov 7th where I will work 1:1 and mentor you to grow your own successful home fitness business!
Please fill out the application below for a spot in my Sneak Peek to see if this is something that will fit you and your lifestyle!
I have been SOOO MIA for the past week and I am so sorry!! But I’m back and really excited to start and complete 2 weeks of the 21 Day Fix Extreme before I start the upcoming release of Country Heat Test Group!
So yes, the 21 Day Fix Extreme is obviously 21 Days long, but I want to show you even what 2 weeks can do!! So I am on day 2 today!!! I just finished my workout, and I’m already feeling it! My upper and lower body is sore, but I love it!!
It’s crazy what just 30 minutes can do for you! People think they need to go and spend 2 hours at a gym and you know what? Im a HUGE gym lover.. but I look and watch people and they spend two hours, but only have their heart rate up for not even half the time because they socialize, or don’t even know what their doing half the time! So having these programs allows you to watch the trainers do it with good form, you have a schedule to follow, and certain exercises to do so you are working every body part and getting a good workout!
Yesterday, I also did some meal prep! I got some chicken, turkey burger, chicken sausage, fresh fruit, veggies, hummus, almonds, eggs, oats, sweet potatoes, quinoa, brown rice, and will be having my Shakeology daily!
Crock pot Chicken is so easy to make!! Literally, I threw 4 pieces of chicken in the crock pot, threw some pepper, garlic, and onion powder in, set it to 4 hours, and walk away! So I’m going to have chicken stir fry with fresh veggies and brown rice as a few meals!
Coconut Chicken- Ok so I LOVE this meal!!! Cut up chicken breasts into strips, had a bowl with an egg, and a bowl with shredded unsweetened coconut (add some pepper to it) and dip the chicken in the egg first, then the coconut mix, set it on a cookie sheet, and bake at 425 for 30 min or until brown on top!
Turkey Meatloaf is another easy meal that myself and my kids love!! I used a pound of ground turkey meat, added 2 cups salsa, 1/2 cup quinoa, pepper, 1 tbsp garlic, and mixed together and placed it in a small pan and baked at 350 for 35 minutes! WALAH!!
Seriously, healthy eating is not that difficult!! I love prepping for the whole week and that way each day, I’m not rushing around trying to figure out what to eat because its already done! I don’t have excuses of not having anything prepared which keeps me away from fast food or eating out!
Quote for the week:
“Failing to plan is planning to fail.”
Take advantage of the opportunities you have to do what you want, but you must be willing to plan, prepare, and make small sacrifices to get their in order to achieve your goals!!
If you are ready to commit to a healthy lifestyle and reach your health and fitness goals, please fill out the application below for a spot in my next 30 day fitness challenge! You will be required to check in our accountability group on Facebook daily, along with following a home fitness program, and eating healthy (80/20 rule- don’t worry your allowed 1 cheat meal here and there 🙂 )!
So before I ate this meal, I looked at these pancakes and thought.. uhhh they are green.. They probably don’t taste good lol… I was WRONG! They are amazing!! Thanks to my best friend Kaileigh for introducing me to these healthy Green Clean Protein Pancakes!!!
Calling all you fit mommas who hate leaving their kids at home to go to work!
I know exactly what its like. After having my 2nd child Weston and Chase being only 1 year old, I was working full time hours as an ER nurse. Working 12 hour shifts and night rotations was NOT my life I wanted to have. I felt like I was always catching up on sleep if I wasn’t working, and I was always tired because the shifts and sleep was always changing. I was missing activities an moments with my kids that I will never get back.. for instance, my son’s first crawl.
One day at work, there were a couple girlfriends of mine who were having a rough morning because they unfortunately had to work and it was their kids first day of school. That was the moment I thought to myself that I was never going to be that mom missing out on those memories I will never get back.
Your kids are only young once and I decided that if I have the opportunity to take control of my time and freedom with my kids, then I was going to do it! I am done being average and settling for a job that I work my butt off for and only make what someone else decides they will pay me. I am done living paycheck to paycheck to make ends meet and not be able to save for my kids college education or whatever they need for their future!
So here I am.. 3 years later.. RETIRED from nursing for 1 year and having more freedom with my kids and financial freedom than I ever had. I will not say it was easy, but it was so worth the sacrifices to have long term freedom with my family!
So HOW did I get to where I am today?!? Working full time from home as a fitness coach with Beachbody where I set my schedule and help people with their fitness goals for a living….
First off, I had a CLEAR VISION- I knew what I wanted, and that was to retire from nursing, and be a work from home mom. I wanted to give my boys freedom. The ability to travel, to do activities, and for me to be present in their lives as much as possible! I also love helping people, which is why I got into nursing in the first place. But I decided I wanted to keep people out of the hospital and help them live a healthy lifestyle so they live a long fulfilling life and don’t have to worry about hospital stays, medical bills, and taking medication daily.
Next, I SET GOALS- Not only did I set short and long term goals, BUT I wrote them down! I made a goal board for myself and what I wanted and I made sure EVERYTHING was wrote on that board so I can see it every day! That daily reminder helps you push even when your having a bad day or you want to give up!
Then, I TOOK ACTION- You can dream as much as you want, but if you are not taking action, then your going to stay in the same unhappy and comfortable place that you are in.. I hated to admit that to myself and its not that I was so unhappy and miserable with life, but I knew if I didn’t make the change and take action, I would not have any more time with my kids or freedom than what I do now. I signed up as a fitness coach not having any education about social media or how to be self employed growing my own business. So along with signing with a coach who helped me, I got into my coaches new coach training that gave me the basics to set a foundation for my successful business.
I STAYED CONSISTENT- Consistency is KEY! I know it is so easy to be excited when you start something new, for example your fitness journey. You start of motivated and you are consistent with those daily workouts and eating healthy, but then sometimes life gets busy and your consistency fizzles and your results become less and less apparent… then before you know it, your back to square one. Let me tell you that does NOT have to happen!! If you stay consistent, trust the process that you will succeed!! I took 1 hour a day to grow my Beachbody business while working full time as a nurse and taking Master’s classes. I shared my fitness journey, talked to people about it wherever I went, and helped as many people as I could!
The PAYOFF- There is nothing better than freedom! Traveling with my kids at least 2 times a year, attending every event and activity, and not missing any moment of my boys growing up! In my first year, I was able to make up my yearly nursing salary as a fitness coach. In just 2 years, I retired as a nurse. As of January, my yearly income as a nurse was made in just 3 months of my fitness coaching income!
Now all I want to ask you is how important your long term goals are to you? Are you willing to work hard at the beginning to reap the reward in the end?
I can say from my own experience, turning my passion for fitness into my career was my best decision I ever made for myself and my family! I wake up every day doing what I love, ready to help others with their fitness journey while keeping myself accountable. I work from home making my own hours, and my boys watch me work and have grown a passion for being healthy as well! You may be able to tell from this picture! My oldest son loves making his muscles!
If you are ready to take your fitness to the next level and want to build your own fitness career from ground up, I would love to mentor you along your journey and provide you with the training and resources you need to grow a 6 figure income within 2 years!
To get into my next New Coach Training, please fill out the application below to be accepted!
3 Years ago, my second son was born, I was unhappy, depressed, and disgusted with how I looked and felt. I needed a change and the same old routine of jumping from diet to diet wasn’t cutting it. It was causing me to stress more, and it became more of a yo-yo diet which was NOT healthy for me!
As I was looking for a change, I heard about Beachbody programs, which were home fitness programs that came with a schedule to follow AND a nutrition plan… and then Shakeology. I was slightly skeptical because I wasn’t sure this is another FAD diet that I was falling into. As I did my research and saw the amazing results my cousin had and many other friends and family I knew were doing the same thing.
I decided to trust in the process and take a leap of faith. It was scary, yes… but what would be scarier, taking a leap and getting results, or not taking the leap and staying in the same unhappy place your in looking for a way out?! I have to be completely real and up front because I was in that same situation! Its easy to take the easy way out… to skip out on your goals because maybe your busy and use to putting everyone else first… but think about this.. those people you love and put first.. how will you take care of them the best way if you cannot take care of yourself? People follow the lead. They follow what you do! So if you take care of yourself, then you as a role model will show others how its done and will join you and follow the lead!
As I was reaching my goals little by little, I was so excited to share my success with others and show that it IS possible to reach your goals no matter how busy you are, what obstacles are in your way, and no matter how much you want to lose or gain!
The biggest part that contributed to my success with my health and fitness goals was being in a challenge group/support group. I’ve had personal trainers.. I was a personal trainer. I know the time spent with trainers helps a lot… but having them every single day is not realistic. Being in the challenge groups gave me the ability to have a coach and mentor help me DAILY throughout the day with support, motivation, accountability, but also gave me tips on healthy eating and exercise, meal planning and meal prepping for the week, and I also was not only working with my coach, but the group of people doing the same thing I was doing! I found extra support, friendships, and having surround myself with others with similar goals pushed me harder, further when I wanted to give up, and gave me exactly what I needed to reach my goals!
Since being in challenge groups myself, I decided as I was getting the results I wanted, to give this opportunity to others as well! Having experience as a trainer, education on nutrition, experience now as a figure competitor, I can give advice, support, knowledge and motivation to others so they experience the success as well!
I am now accepting new challengers to take a leap of faith with me and allow me to help 1:1 with daily support, motivation, and accountability and reaching some BIG GOALS together as a team!
Please fill out the application below and we will talk more about starting your new journey!
I have been doing some good ol Training for my Pinterest account because I love Pinterest personally, have found amazing ideas, lots of motivation, and amazing challengers and coaches to join my team because of utilizing it!
So today, I just want to share with you all a few tips to help you expand your network through the use of Pinterest!!
First off, I am NOT a professional.. I have to give credit to Melanie Duncan and Natalie Jill for their amazing training and tips!!!
This is my top 5 tips from both of their trainings!! I will recommend you still doing their training, because just my 5 tips does not do justice for their knowledge and skill!!!!
1. Your Pinterest account should have your “pins” linking to YOUR other social media avenues… Ex. Blog, Youtube channel, etc.
If your “pins” are directed to another persons’ social media, how are you going to gain traction?? You are basically giving away your potential clients and team mates to someone else by pinning and having it directed to someone else!!
I use my blog for all my detailed information because it is perfect for recipes for my challengers, friends, and family, information on what I have to offer fitness and nutrition wise for my challengers and coaches, and I love sharing my fitness journey for my audience on social media!! Instead of having to re-write everything every time I talk to someone, the use of my blog comes into perfect use!! Being able to PIN everything I post only give my audience the ability to see more, and hopefully reaches out to their friends and family also to help, motivate, and inspire them as well!!
2. Make sure you have good solid topics for your “BOARDS” so its easy for people who are scrolling through your Pinterest account can see what you are all about!
Your boards should ONLY have pins from that topic is!! Making them specific will help you gain new followers in that area!!
Gluten Free Meals- Be sure you only have gluten free meals and recipes on that board
Fitness Motivation- Add quotes, pictures, etc to this board
Healthy meal plans- Self explanatory
3. Make your images EYE-CATCHING!!
People look through pinterest and go further because they like what they see in the image!! So if you can make that image eye-catching, you have a golden opportunity to increase the number of “clickers” and followers!!
Just to go in depth a little more, here are a few things I learned to make the images more eye-catching:
Use long images, rather than square or wide- you can do this by using the programs www.Canva.com or www.Picmonkey.com (I used both, I just prefer Picmonkey).
Add a link to your site for people to go for more information on your image- I put my blog site because thats where I turn all my traffic to on all my social media. I also use the transparency on picmonkey and minimize so it doesn’t “pop” as much as the other writing that I am trying to grab peoples attention.
Add a “call to action” ex. “CLICK THE IMAGE fore more detail”, “Click here to learn more”, “Click to find out how”… and so on. I think you get it 🙂
Make the images with good lighting and pretty to look at!!!
Use apps like photo editor to lighten your pics or use a good filter to change the color image to fit your personality (try to use the same one each time).
Food pics close up look good where its focused more on a certain part
Be sure its not blurry (as in your didn’t focus good enough on taking the pic)
Don’t have too much clutter in your images. If you have a collage of too many pics that are hard to see, people won’t click. Make sure all pics are a good size and visible on Pinterest when searching!
Here are some examples of images I used for Pinterest… I use bright colors to make them eye-catching, used filters on the pics that I took of myself, and close ups with the food pics.
I put my blog link to every image at the bottom so people know where to go for more.
I have a call to action on every picture so my audience knows where to go for more of what they see that is sparking their interest!!
The images are long (not wide), but not too cluttered with just a few pictures in each image.
4. If you are using your Pinterest as a Business account, keep it MOSTLY your business boards!
I keep my boys Birthday party ideas, etc private.. I do keep a couple public just to show my personality a little!! Fashion, house decorating ideas … that is what I like to also post on other social media, so everyone gets the same type of content!!
5. Convert your Pinterest account to a Business account-
When you have a business account, you can also promote pins for FREE so more people can see your content!! There is a wait list, so be sure you fill out the information to get on the wait list and when it asks you how much you would spend, be generous! Don’t worry, they wont require you to spend that much that you put down!!
I hope these tips help you get your Pinterest started off right and you can build upon it on a regular basis!!! I use my Pinterest a good 3 times per week. The more you use it, the more Pinterest will recognize and bump you up on the wait list to promote pins!! 🙂
