Oh boy!!! If you have been following me, I started prepping for a Figure Competition about 6 weeks ago! I was pumped to get back into my suit and heels because I haven’t pushed myself and my body that way in quite a while!!
Long story short, I have been taking my weekly pictures and tracking my show prep, but each week, I was getting more and more frustrated that my body wasn’t changing! I mean, I know how my body works and after doing 2 shows, I know what my body needs! So each week, I wasn’t seeing a difference, then weight started coming on (literally I gained 8 lbs in 2 week!!!) and felt bloated!! Well, I related the bloated and gas to a lot of protein (if ya know what I mean)! HAHA.. but that definitely was not it!
So needless to say, God had other plans than me prepping for a show!!! He felt we should expand our family even more!!
So there you have it!! A new journey begins as I put the figure suit away for a little longer!! Time to prep for baby #6 for our blended family!! We are so thrilled that the Lord has put this blessing in our hands and we have the ability to create another munchkin!
I am excited to share over the next 8 months how to be fit and healthy during pregnancy! I will still be doing EVERYTHING the same as I have been! I will still be working out, drinking my Shakeology, and eating clean! Yes, the nausea is pretty intense, but nothing that I can’t get through! Time to be strong, stay accountable, and enjoy this pregnancy!
If there are any other pregnant mommas out there who want certain tips or help through pregnancy that I can help with and share here on my blog, post in the comments!
One thing I love is the fact that my husband is pretty amazing at coming up with some fun, new, exciting ways of cooking food with me! He supports us as a family to eat healthy, and is doing a lot of the cooking!
Yesterday, he came up with the idea of making apple walnut turkey burgers! I never in a million years would have come up with that, so I must give him credit for this recipe!
Apple Walnut Turkey Burgers
1/2 small Onion minced
3 cloves garlic minced
Pepper to taste
Salt to taste
1/4 cup BBQ sauce (I use sugar free C. Hughes)
1 tbsp evoo
1 tsp parsley
1/2 Apple finely chopped (I used red apple)
1/4 cup walnuts finely chopped
Pre-heat oven or grill to medium high heat.
Hand mix all ingredients together in medium size mixing bowl.
Make patties the size of your palm of your hand to create proper portion sizes.
Place on sprayed pan (with EVOO or pam) or directly on grill and cook for 8 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked.
Let cool before eating!
Serve with your favorite side salad!

Hey guys!! So I have realize how inconsistent I have been with my blog, so I’m committing to getting back on track with sharing my journey and tips with you!! As a mom of young kids, military wife and family, and stay at home mom, I know many can relate that life gets crazy, but want to share that keeping that healthy lifestyle is so important and doable even when lives are crazy busy!!!
So I am starting to get more strict with my fitness and prepping for my 3rd figure competition! I am 14 weeks out and am further behind from my last shows, but since I have experience, I’m confident that I can really cut quicker than my first two shows since I know how my body responds.
So here is my meal plan for this week!! This first half of the week, I did incorporate peanut butter, but the second part, I am switching over to PB2. I need to see what changes I can make in 2 weeks to judge if I can have any cheat meals or not or how much of a cheat I can have!
For my workouts, I am using my home fitness programs with Beachbody, along with running and the gym!! I love to mix up my workouts…so getting a variety will help keep my metabolism going and prevent me from hitting a plateau.
Mornings I am doing fasting cardio for 20 minutes 3-4 days a week. Then in the late morning, early afternoon, I am doing other Body Beast, or the gym so I am isolating each muscle group when I am lifting. With Body beast, I am doing bulk phase of the workouts.
As time gets closer, I will be doing HIIT training 3 days a week and some type of fasting cardio 6 days a week, but not quite yet since I’m more focused on muscle mass and too much cardio too soon will mess up my game plan lol.
One of my favorite parts about this prep is I get to have my husband prepping with me!! Well, he’s not doing a show per say, but he has goals so were going to kick butt together and help each other through the cravings, hangriness, and pushing through hard workouts!! And yes, I said HANGRINESS… lol Brent saw it first hand last night… I should have eaten more but I missed a meal and didn’t pack anything so I was really really hungry post workout!!
Anyways… let this fun journey begin!! I am excited to share the good, bad, and ugly with ya and share my changes I make over the next 14 weeks!!!!

I usually only see my Fiancé once every month since he lives 10 hours away in Maine and I’m hanging out here in Pennsylvania… It’s a slight challenge, but it’s temporary and we both have to continue doing what we need to do to achieve our goals! This is one reason I love this man so much! We understand each other, and support one another with our life goals.. even if it requires us being away from each other for some time.
So even though I saw Brent last weekend and he came to visit, he decided to surprise me again with another visit! Yes, he’s crazy enough to drive 10 hours each way to be with me when he can! We made a weekend out of it for sure! We started off with getting our first fur baby together!! He had a cat prior to us starting our relationship, but now we got our first puppy!! We adopted her from a friend of mine who was looking for a family for her! It worked out perfect because I needed a hypoallergenic doggy that doesn’t shed because of my son Weston’s allergies. She’s def loved so much already! We even took her into Walmart to get groceries.. yea, you can call us the crazy people of Walmart!! LOL! And Yes, Brent is our new “Dog Mom”!
After getting our pup Izzy, we went to visit my mom and soon to be step-dad and went 4 wheeling! We took the side by side and stayed warm and dry while my mom and her boyfriend got wet and cold on the quad!! Never a dull moment with us!
Sunday, we went to downtown Chambersburg to our Ice Fest, and while we were there, Brent finally got to see our venue for our wedding! He has only seen pictures, so this was a nice surprise!
Sunday night pizza, movie, and cuddles!!
What is your favorite kind of pizza? I don’t know about you, but I love my Papa John’s and Stuffed Crust Pizza from Pizza Hut.. but I also know that it has as many calories per slice as I should have in a whole day!! So, it’s time to make some adjustments and make my own version so I am getting my pizza cravings satisfied, but also staying on track with my fitness goals! Because everyone should know you can’t work off a bad diet!
So Brent and I wanted to have pizza, movie, and cuddle night, so we went for making our own pizza! Saving money, calories, and we had a blast making it together! I was going to make a white pizza, but Brent had an awesome idea of adding Kale instead of spinach, which I never have done before! I am always up for trying something new!
Healthy Stuffed Crust Kale Pizza:
1 whole grain pizza crust (I get the Pillsbury roll)
1/2 cup organic pizza sauce
6 light string cheese
3 large tomatoes
2 cups fresh kale
1 cup fresh portobello mushrooms
2 cups shredded 1% mozzarella cheese
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 black pepper
1/2 tsp Himalayan salt (or sea salt)
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
Roll out the dough. Place the string cheese side-by-side length wise 1/2 inch from end of dough. Roll the end of dough over top string cheese, so the cheese is covered fully by dough to make crust.
Add sauce to the middle and with a spoon, smooth out sauce so it covers the dough.
Add cheese and spread evenly to cover the pizza (except crust).
Add Kale and spread evenly on pizza.
Add mushrooms, and remaining 4 ingredients to pizza (evenly sprinkling on top of pizza).
Bake for 25 min, or until brown on top.
Let cool before eating!
ENJOY with your favorite salad! Mine of course is the Strawberry Spinach Salad!
Ok, so you really gotta try this recipe!! It’s crazy amazing!!
WHAT ELSE DID PREP FOR THE WEDDING?!
Now, I know this post is a prep for our wedding, so if you really want to know what we got accomplished.. well… we just saw our venue again TOGETHER! One more thing, I got to sit down with our DJ and go over what music we went for each part of the wedding.. I do not know what I would do without her! She’s kinda like my wedding planner!
Other than those 2 things, we didn’t do anything else! I will say this week is going to be BUSY! I need to follow up with everyone we are using for the wedding to help make it special!
Staying Fit For Our Wedding!
As you saw, we made some healthy food, and we also did get some workouts in! We have been doing Core De Force, our home fitness program! It’s nice because we can workout at home, we have a schedule to follow, along with a meal plan! If you want more information on this program, or starting your fitness journey, please fill out the application below and I will contact you and help you get started!
Overall, we had a great week, weekend, and are ready to keep chugging along with our journey! Lots of surprises and unknowns, but we have faith in this process and God has a great plan for us! One day at a time, we will let everything fall into place!
So I am like everyone else with a New Year’s Resolution… but I try to make this more of a lifestyle!!!
One of my resolutions is to maintain a fit and healthy lifestyle and minimizing the cheat meals each week. I do well with my workouts, but my nutrition can easily fall off as many of you can probably relate!
Now that my wedding day is coming right around corner in a little over 5 weeks, it’s time to get serious!
So I started my new regimen last week with Core De Force, which is our home fitness program with Beachbody! Since I am a fitness coach with Beachbody, it is important for me to lead by example and show others what is is like to live a healthy lifestyle! So I incorporate our home fitness programs that are around 30 minutes a day, along with clean eating! One additive we use into our nutrition isShakeology, which is our superfood health shake and is a meal replacement! You cannot find this quality of a shake over the counter and has amazing benefits… hence me using this for over 4 years now!
As I started Core De Force, I also started with the 3 Day Refresh cleanse just to remove the toxins and junk that I put in my body over the holidays! It was a perfect way to get on track with my nutrition and get me in good eating habits!
There is not a huge difference, but I will say the bloating is gone, and I feel lighter!! I am down 3 lbs and 2 inches! My main goal was to get the toxins out of my body and get focused on my nutrition and let go of the cravings… It was a success!
So now the journey continues! I will be drinking my Shakeology daily, eating clean, and getting in my Core De Force workouts 6 days a week! These are the simple keys to success!! It’s not complicated! So many people try to over complicate it with counting calories, diets, points, macros, etc… honestly, its portion control, and making healthy choices!!!
So there you have it! My little secret to reaching those goals that seem sometimes IMPOSSIBLE!
Not only is working out going to help you burn those calories, but during the time of wedding prep, you need to relieve that stress!! Im going to leave you with a little secret about my wedding and engagement!!
My fiancé Brent and I got engaged on Christmas Eve…. we ALMOST went to JP to get married, but decided we wanted our special immediate family and very very close friends there… just a few!! So we set the date of February 18th, 2017! Yes, that is like 8 weeks to plan our wedding!
To take it a little further, since my fiancé lives in Maine, while I’m in PA, I am doing the planning alone. He gets to FaceTime with me, but it isn’t the same! He will not be transferring to PA National Guard until the end of summer!
But we are still having fun planning and getting ready! In the first week of actually planing (that started last week lol), we confirmed our venue, our flowers, and I got my dress! This week so far, we confirmed our photographer, our catering, and still going strong!
So who says they need 1 year to plan?! HAHA! I feel like I should do this as my second career!!
Anyways, I am excited to track my next 5 weeks of planning and getting fit for our wedding day! Also, feel free to follow me on my FITNESS PAGE on Facebook for more healthy tips and a little more of my journey! Embrace Your Figure

Calling all you fit mommas who hate leaving their kids at home to go to work!
I know exactly what its like. After having my 2nd child Weston and Chase being only 1 year old, I was working full time hours as an ER nurse. Working 12 hour shifts and night rotations was NOT my life I wanted to have. I felt like I was always catching up on sleep if I wasn’t working, and I was always tired because the shifts and sleep was always changing. I was missing activities an moments with my kids that I will never get back.. for instance, my son’s first crawl.
One day at work, there were a couple girlfriends of mine who were having a rough morning because they unfortunately had to work and it was their kids first day of school. That was the moment I thought to myself that I was never going to be that mom missing out on those memories I will never get back.
Your kids are only young once and I decided that if I have the opportunity to take control of my time and freedom with my kids, then I was going to do it! I am done being average and settling for a job that I work my butt off for and only make what someone else decides they will pay me. I am done living paycheck to paycheck to make ends meet and not be able to save for my kids college education or whatever they need for their future!
So here I am.. 3 years later.. RETIRED from nursing for 1 year and having more freedom with my kids and financial freedom than I ever had. I will not say it was easy, but it was so worth the sacrifices to have long term freedom with my family!
So HOW did I get to where I am today?!? Working full time from home as a fitness coach with Beachbody where I set my schedule and help people with their fitness goals for a living….
First off, I had a CLEAR VISION- I knew what I wanted, and that was to retire from nursing, and be a work from home mom. I wanted to give my boys freedom. The ability to travel, to do activities, and for me to be present in their lives as much as possible! I also love helping people, which is why I got into nursing in the first place. But I decided I wanted to keep people out of the hospital and help them live a healthy lifestyle so they live a long fulfilling life and don’t have to worry about hospital stays, medical bills, and taking medication daily.
Next, I SET GOALS- Not only did I set short and long term goals, BUT I wrote them down! I made a goal board for myself and what I wanted and I made sure EVERYTHING was wrote on that board so I can see it every day! That daily reminder helps you push even when your having a bad day or you want to give up!
Then, I TOOK ACTION- You can dream as much as you want, but if you are not taking action, then your going to stay in the same unhappy and comfortable place that you are in.. I hated to admit that to myself and its not that I was so unhappy and miserable with life, but I knew if I didn’t make the change and take action, I would not have any more time with my kids or freedom than what I do now. I signed up as a fitness coach not having any education about social media or how to be self employed growing my own business. So along with signing with a coach who helped me, I got into my coaches new coach training that gave me the basics to set a foundation for my successful business.
I STAYED CONSISTENT- Consistency is KEY! I know it is so easy to be excited when you start something new, for example your fitness journey. You start of motivated and you are consistent with those daily workouts and eating healthy, but then sometimes life gets busy and your consistency fizzles and your results become less and less apparent… then before you know it, your back to square one. Let me tell you that does NOT have to happen!! If you stay consistent, trust the process that you will succeed!! I took 1 hour a day to grow my Beachbody business while working full time as a nurse and taking Master’s classes. I shared my fitness journey, talked to people about it wherever I went, and helped as many people as I could!
The PAYOFF- There is nothing better than freedom! Traveling with my kids at least 2 times a year, attending every event and activity, and not missing any moment of my boys growing up! In my first year, I was able to make up my yearly nursing salary as a fitness coach. In just 2 years, I retired as a nurse. As of January, my yearly income as a nurse was made in just 3 months of my fitness coaching income!
Now all I want to ask you is how important your long term goals are to you? Are you willing to work hard at the beginning to reap the reward in the end?
I can say from my own experience, turning my passion for fitness into my career was my best decision I ever made for myself and my family! I wake up every day doing what I love, ready to help others with their fitness journey while keeping myself accountable. I work from home making my own hours, and my boys watch me work and have grown a passion for being healthy as well! You may be able to tell from this picture! My oldest son loves making his muscles!
If you are ready to take your fitness to the next level and want to build your own fitness career from ground up, I would love to mentor you along your journey and provide you with the training and resources you need to grow a 6 figure income within 2 years!
