Find your Fitness Motivation!

As a Beachbody coach, I come across so many people wanting to better their lives, and make healthy changes, but do not know the first place to go for help! This definitely helped me find my nitch and career, because as a nurse, I obviously LOVE to help people, but my passion for health and fitness has grown significantly since reaching my own goals. Today is about how to find your Motivation!!

For me when I first started my fitness journey, I didn’t know where to turn, and although it was always easy for me to get back into shape, after having my second child… it was not so easy anymore.  I felt like I lost myself, and all the confidence I use to have, was down the drain.  I was embarrassed to be in front of my husband, rather than in a pool in a bathing suit with my son for swimming lessons.
It was not until a few weeks after having my second son, that my cousin who is a Beachbody coach came to me and asked me to join her “Beachbody Challenge”… I was very skeptical because I always hear about those FAD diets, and honestly, I did not have time for another FAKE OUT with my body and health.. I was in desperate need of help!
At the same time, I was a full time mommy (1 yr old and newborn), along with working as an ER nurse, building a house, and taking my Master’s classes and clinicals for my school nurse certification.
I thought about it and after seeing my cousin’s results, and put my trust in her and decided to take a leap of faith!
I did research and noticed lots of great reports with the workout programs such as Turbo Fire, Insanity, P90X, and Brazil Butt Lift.

What stood out to me about these Beachbody Fitness programs??
-Each program comes with a nutrition guide: For once, a company focuses on both aspects of a healthy weight loss… BOTH exercise AND nutrition!
-Each program has a schedule to follow: No need to be lost on what to do when… It is given to you!
-There is a program out there for EVERYONE: Based on your Intensity level,  and if you have any restrictions from injuries.
-Focus on LONG TERM vs. SHORT TERM LIFESTYLE: So many FAD diets are only temporary… The food and shakes are full of chemicals, and do not give you the proper nutrition, SO when you get off these foods and go back to regular food, you will eventually gain that weight back.
-Time efficient: Being that I am a mother and work, I do not have 1 or 2 hours to spend at the gym, along with finding a sitter to watch my children, while I travel back and forth to the gym…. Beachbody’s home DVD programs give you the opportunity to work out in your own home, and not having to leave the house and waste more time going back and forth
-Money saver:  Paying for a monthly gym membership… hmmm, I bet many of us know how that goes… we pay for a gym, but go months without stepping foot in a gym! I have found paying for a workout program that I have FOREVER makes me feel I’m getting the most out of my buck!

These are just some amazing benefits that Beachbody has provided me, that I can now share with many others and give everyone else the great opportunity I had!

What is a Beachbody Challenge??
I, as a Beachbody coach, hold closed groups on Facebook where I work 1:1 with YOU to help you reach your ultimate health and fitness goals..
HOW does this work??
-You pick your workout program and follow the schedule and nutrition guide
– I give you daily motivation
-I provide my challengers with healthy recipes
– I provide my challengers with meal plans and help them make their own if they need help
-We take before and after pictures to help track our progress of our journey
-Challengers check in DAILY: Take 2 minutes to say how your day went…. Did you complete your daily workout, did you drink your SHAKEOLOGY, and how did you eat?? Rate your food on a scale 1:5, 5 being the best and 1 being I totally fell off the wagon!

The only way out of not getting the results you are looking for or more, is if you do not follow the program.

After researching about Beachbody and “The Challenge”, I committed to joining my own challenge.  I started with 60 days of Insanity and drinking SHAKEOLOGY on a daily basis, and I was finding myself after 4 weeks, I had increased energy, less bloating, but more importantly, those crazy night cravings I had, were subsiding!! This was totally craziness!! How in the world can I get these results, when I was spending 2 hours at the gym and not getting results that fast??
I realized as time went on, and I was completing the workout programs successfully, that having a personal trainer on my TV to push and motivate me, on top of a support group with people having the same goals as me help me through my tough times, and a coach to guide me and help me with meal planning and accountability, is what made all the difference!
I am not downing the gym or people who love the gym… we all have a preference…. but Im talking from what worked for me! I will say, having a program play, pushed me through with less breaks, which keeps my heart rate up longer, burring more fat, and increasing my metabolism!  On top of the healthy eating,  drinking Shakeology once daily, helped me maximize my results and give me the dense nutrition I was always lacking from my regimen!
I WAS FINDING MYSELF AGAIN!!!

I have NEVER found such an easy, convenient health and fitness plan, than those with Beachbody.  I have gone through several programs now including INSANITY, P90X, TURBO FIRE, ULTIMATE RESET, P90X3, T25, 21 DAY FIX and now currently in Team Beachbody’s Test Group for PiYo, along with drinking SHAKEOLOGY every single day!!  I have lost a total of 30 lbs, and 25 inches and am more fit than I was in high school as an athlete before kids! How many people can say that??! I know, I never thought that would come out of my mouth… BUT I’m here to say it’s totally possible!!
You put in the effort, the commitment, and the time, and the results will follow right behind!

Honey Sriracha Baked Chicken

Honey Sriracha Baked Chicken

So if you know me, you will understand my obsession I have for Sriracha hot sauce! I don’t know what it is, but I have grown to love it so much… at first, I could barely handle a drop on my tongue, but now you best believe Im drenching my egg white, chicken, and turkey burger in a bowl of it!! 
So, here it is… for all you lovers of SPICY FOOD… the new Honey Sriracha Baked Chicken!!
Ingredients:
  • 2 lb raw boneless, skinless chicken breast (makes approx 6 servings)
  • 3 tbsp Sriracha hot sauce
  • 2 tbsp raw honey
  • 1 tbsp Liquid Braggs Amino (found in Organic section at local grocery stores- soy sauce replacement)
  • 1 tbsp EVOO (extra virgin olive oil)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp Corn starch
  • Olive oil spray (to grease baking dish)
Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 350 F.
  2. Mix 2-7 ingredients together in bowl
  3.  Put chicken in zip lock bag and 1.2 mixture in bag to marinade for 30 minutes. 
  4. Take Chicken out of Marinade and put on greased 8X8 deep baking dish.
  5. Bake chicken breasts covered for approx 40 minutes at 400
  6. While Chicken is baking, take other 1/2 of mixture and heat on medium on stove in small pot until mixture becomes thick consistency. Set aside.
  7. Once chicken has baked for 40 minutes, take mixture that was set aside and pour over each piece of chicken and bake for 10 more minutes uncovered.
  8. Take out of oven and let cool prior to digging in to this delicious dinner!!

 Marinade for 30 minutes in large zip lock bag

Put in 8X8 baking dish and bake for 40 min at 400 F

Heat 1/2 mixture on medium heat until thickened (by Corn starch) and set aside until chicken is cooked

  Add thickened mixture on top of chicken and cook for 10 more minutes uncovered at 350 F

Easter is over, bring on the summer body! 21 DAY FIX meal plan week 3

I hope everyone had an awesome Easter, but it’s really time to get back to reality and on track of our goals!! I know many fell off the wagon a little, and that is ok, as long as you don’t stay off the wagon! ;)- So you may be thinking, what is the first thing I do to get myself back on track?!

For me, I personally did not go over board on Easter… I had not 1 single piece of chocolate over the holidays, other than my Shakeology! I will say it time and time again, when I drink my Shakeology, it helps me with my cravings, so I truly do not need candy! GO ME!! HAHA.. the only thing I did not so hot on, was the ham and bread… I did eat 2.5 pieces of Texas toast and 3 pieces of ham! YIKES! Sodium OVERLOAD! So her I am…. getting back on track… this is how I am doing it!
SHAKEOLOGY CLEANSE- This is a 3 day cleanse to help remove the extra sodium, and unnecessary extras in my body that do not need to be there! Its only 2pm, and my body is feeling so different!  If you are wondering what this cleanse is I am talking about, here you go!

I also did switch around my lunch and dinner, so I had a spinach salad (I added my feta cheese and olives) with grilled chicken! I have to add a little calories so I can keep with my plan for the group I am in.

It is crazy how much can change in such little time and how different your body can feel just by adding more water and green tea to your plan, along with cutting out simple extras in your regimen that are not needed!
We never realize what little things can hold us back until we change our routine a little! My entire journey has been a trial and error! Everyone’s body is different, so it is important to find what works best for you!

PS. Here was my yummy salad I had for lunch!  My dressing was the Clean Greek Salad Dressing that I got from the 21 DAY ULTIMATE RESET! I still use many of those recipes from that program! It was great and not only did I get great results, but I learn so much about food that I never knew!
So for the rest of the day will be fruits, Shakeology, green tea, and lemon water!! I am totally ok with this because I know my body needs rejuvenated and what better way than with natural whole foods?!

So I know nutrition isa tough area for people, which is why I am here to help! Since having my own transformation, I have learned a lot of nutrition and meal planning so your body can lose weight effectively without gaining it back! Hence, I do NOT do diets! Before Beachbody, I was that girl that loved the latest diet fad and was crash dieting, popping pills, and sipping on a lemon-cayenne pepper drink to lose weight. Since high school, I was rather sedentary and my busy life kept me making excuses that I didn’t have time, nor interest in working out. All that yo-yo dieting was taking its toll on my body. The crash diets would just lead to over eating and I would in turn get depressed. Because I would over-eat after dieting, I would ultimately gain back that weight plus. After delivering my 4th child in early 2013, even while breastfeeding, in July I was still 172 lbs. My clothes didn’t fit, my energy was low and I was just eating my feelings. I didn’t want to face my emotions or deal with the issues causing me to eat…I just wanted to eat. I stopped socializing, stopped caring, and my friends/family hardly saw me. I was miserable.
I knew something had to change. Not only was I unhealthy, but I needed to change my life for my family, my children. Obesity runs in my family, as none of were raised to make our health a priority. I needed to change that mentality in myself and instill different habits in my children to stop the path of self-destruction.
I had been “watching” a mutual acquaintance on FB drop the pounds and post about her journey. I knew I wanted to do whatever she was doing because I wanted the results she had. Enter Beachbody. I messaged her on FB and told her to “sign me up”…whatever I needed to do, I was ready. I had about 30 pounds I wanted off my body as soon as possible, but something was different this time. I wanted to do it the safe, healthy way. I wanted to combine my diet and exercise and lose the weight naturally, not with diet pills or the latest fad. So in early July 2013, I purchased a Challenge Pack, joined her upcoming challenge group  and began the TurboFire program and started drinking Shakeology.
Was it easy for me to commit to working out 6 times a week? Definitely not, especially after having a baby, and 4 children 6 and under plus owning my own business and working full time? Was it easy for me to completely switch up my eating habits? No! In fact, nutrition change was the hardest part for me. Just like everyone, I felt in my comfort zone when I ate whatever my heart pleased and knowing that I would have to give up my guilty pleasures and learn about healthy eating literally scared me. But you know what? Life begins at the end of your comfort zone they say!! And now I can say that that is exactly where your life starts…at the end of that comfort zone! There were days when I just wanted to quit. There were days when I wanted to consume my weight in Dairy Queen blizzards, but I kept on going. With the help of my Coach Deidra and the private FB challenge group’s online support system, I never felt alone.
Ironically, next 3 months of my life would be the crucial ones in my transformation. Not only did I lose almost 30 lbs, but most importantly, I fell in love with my new lifestyle. Workouts that intimidated me actually made me a much happier person and mom. Scary healthy eating and Shakeology turned my body into what I always wanted it to be and for the first time in 30 years I was beginning to see abs on my stomach. There was no going back to old habits. I was officially hooked on working out at home and putting only healthy foods in my body.
After Turbo Fire I invested in Insanity and found my soulmate cardio workout that gave me even more ab definition and helped me discover how FUN cardio workouts could be. I loved Shaun T so much, and he really inspired me to #DigDeeper. Next I completed p90x3, and my body is changing more and more with each new program.

Now fast forward 8 months, I am in the best shape of my life and this is not the end. I am currently doing FocusT25 which is only 25 min./day. If someone told me last summer when I just got started that I would hang in there for this long and would some day do workouts for fun, I would never believe it. I have lost 42 lbs. and over 40″ all over my body!! All I know is I am so happy that I believed in this company, their dvds and nutrition…and I couldn’t have done it without my coach. I am committed to bettering myself every day and will set a new standard in my family as well, leading by example all the way!

Oh how I missed my Beachbody family!! I had such an amazing weekend with everyone who I haven’t seen in a while… well at least what seems a while!  So since our team does not get a chance to really spend quality time together, we definitely made up for it! Friday night, my BFF and fellow coach Kaileigh and I met the girls at the Willow (an amazing restaurant) to hang out and discuss the Super Saturday event the next day! We had great laughs and it was so nice to catch up with these girls (and guy) 😉

Friday was a blast, but I was really looking forward to the main event that we all came for…. SUPER SATURDAY IN THE BURGH!

I am so very blessed to be a part of the Beachbody family, Bombshell Dynasty, The Dream Team, but also the creator of my own team Forever FIT! These teams are growing like crazy and cannot imagine my team without all my coaches! Although I drive 3 hours to Pittsburgh for every super saturday event, it is so well worth it! 
Taking a look at this picture above, my first super Saturday did not have as many coaches.. There are now over 300 coaches attending this event, and it is only growing bigger! 
I am so proud to say that I now have my own coaches traveling to these events to join me in getting motivated and coming to enjoy themselves and learning to grow a successful business!

These are the coaches from Forever FIT that attended our super saturday event.  Alisha Smith is the second coach in on the left who is one of my diamond coaches and has had such an amazing transformation! She has lost 40 lbs and 40 inches and is continuing an amazing journey along with building an amazing team! Two of her coaches, Alessia and Alecia also drove 3 and 6 hours to join us and they are the two coaches to the right of me! Last but not least, Ashley is one of my diamonds coaches coaches who already lives in Pittsburgh who came to join us! Despite her not knowing anyone, she still came and had a great time getting to know everyone and more about Beachbody! 

I remember last January, I was sitting in at my first Super Saturday, looking around at all these successful coaches in the room, thinking to myself, “How in the world am I ever going to get there?”  
Now, here I stand, 7 star Diamond Elite Beachbody coach and speaking on the stage at this huge event! I am so thankful to have the opportunity to now be one of those successful speakers sharing their story at a super saturday!  Somehow, we were blessed to have Gill Porr, one of the amazing photographers in Pittsburgh, attend our event and take amazing pictures and also recorded my speech! I would love to share this with you all to show you I did not start at the top… I was not a fast starter at all… BUT I did continue pushing myself and never gave up on what was important to me.

This is such a proud moment right here.  My cousin and my mentor has officially taken the #1 spot in the Beachbody company! She started 3 years ago, just like every other coach, and worked her way to the top.  She worked extra hours, sacrificed many things, but now those things she sacrificed, she can do get back because she earned it!

I can’t forget about post Super Saturday… Kailiegh and I had some things to do while in Pittsburgh to finish off strong!! Nothing like a trip to Tiffany’s to make a purchase for our coaches going star diamond!! This is a high rank that is NOT easy to get to … It takes hard work, leadership, and never giving up!! I am soooo excited to hand this over when it is final next week!!! These ladies totally deserve it!!!

I am pretty sure this job may be the most rewarding job EVER!! Helping people, keeping yourself and others healthy, working in your workout clothes and PJ’s, and paying off debt all at the same time!!!

Nothing beats an easy crock-pot dinner! I am a Mexican food fan, so why not throw a couple ingredients together and call it a day! Here is my newest yummy recipe that is healthy, satisfying, and great for the whole family!!
This recipe is also fit for the Focus T25 meal plan, P90X3 meal plan, and 21 Day Fix meal plan! If you are using the 21 day fix, this meal will count for 1 red, 1 yellow, and 1 blue container. 
Ingredients:
  • 6 chicken breasts (4 oz) or 1 lb cubed
  • 1 12 oz bag frozen corn
  • 1 15 oz low sodium black beans
  • 1 16 oz chunky salsa
  • 1 cup reduced fat shredded cheddar cheese
Directions:
Add cubed chicken, corn, beans, and salsa to crock pot and cook on high for 3 hrs.  
Add shredded cheese and stir until cheese melted
Serve and enjoy!

Calories- 246
Fat- 5.5
Carbohydrates- 15.8
Protein- 34.1

So I have a HUGE obsession with my Cookies N Cream Quest bars… If you told me I can love off of one thing… I would pick these!! Are you ready for your BEACH BODY?

But what is one thing  that we fret as those amazing summer days arise?? Yep, wearing that bathing suit, bikini, or even shorts! After putting on those 10 tens during the winter and holidays, we are ready for that change!
One thing we all deserve is to be comfortable in our own skin, let alone the clothes we will be putting on to go to pool parties, the beach, and so on.  So what better way to get our Beach body (or even a better body), than joining a support/accountability group to help us get through the tough times?!
Most of us have tried the gym… If you go to the gym now and have been going for at least 30 days… I want to ask  you.. are you getting the results you are looking for? Are you being held accountable 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week?  Although 30 days does not seem long enough to get results, I PROMISE you, it is enough time! It is plenty of time to reach some amazing goals and get into healthy habits!
One fact I have learned that 30 minutes of intense workout with short breaks can give you more results than 1-2 hrs of spending at the gym and taking breaks in between (too long of breaks, or chatting with friends). Its all on what you make of it!

This workout made life easy for me.  I am a mommy of two young boys, I have 2 jobs, so I cannot just pick up and run to the gym at any time of the day.  I needed to find something that worked for me and that was convenient for my family, but still give me the results I needed.  Before T25, I was not able to see my abs.  I did not have far to go, but we all know how hard it is to get rid of those last couple pounds and those last few inches to get the definition just right!  So I decided after going through my other fitness programs, I took a chance with T25.  I stuck with the workout schedule that was given to me (ten week program) and followed the nutritional guide, and even within 30 days, I saw a significant difference, but more importantly, I felt a significant difference!
You will notice, this workout is for ANYONE!! Male or female, with smaller goals and bigger goals… No matter the age, size, or gender, YOU can make this work!  There is NO excuses for not having time to workout! If you cannot make 25 min a day to be healthy, your WHY is not big enough and important enough.  I was there… I would make excuses, I would take the easy way out, but I realized I was then suffering consequences by not meeting my goals and was living with regret!
Don’t wait until you are unhappy and disgusted with yourself.

My 60 day support group is held in a closed group on face book (only the challengers can see) and each day, me and my fellow coaches (yes, you get more than one coach!) will post something motivational, health and nutrition tips, recipes, and meal plans to help you stay on track and keep you accountable for reaching your ultimate health and fitness goals!

There is NO shame is having support and encouragement along your journey! This is exactly how I started my own fitness journey and this is how I reached my ultimate goals!
